I am a professorpreneur. As a Professor of Communication Studies at California State University Long Beach I research, publish, and teach interpersonal communication. As an entrepreneur, I curate experiences and develop technology products for social impact. My two worlds collide as the Associate Director for the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at California State University Long Beach.

I have lectured at universities, conferences, and other convenings around the globe. Relationship topics include but are not limited to understanding infidelity’s relationship to intimate partner abuse, explaining why women cheat, exploring the relationship between hip hop and love, and considering the impact of boys’ early childhood sexual violations on their adult intimacy.

Entrepreneurship topics include but are not limited to ending domestic violence through entrepreneurship, designing products for people, planet and profit, and effective communication for small businesses.

Other topics include unpacking rappers’ intimate relationships with God and uncovering the African origins of yoga. My expertise has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Network as well as other national and international radio, print, and online outlets.

For nearly two decades, I had been working with organizers to tailor engaging and unique experiences for their audiences. I look forward to working with you.
